How to request a correction, clarification, reply, or removal.
Crime Docket is committed to accuracy. When we get something wrong, we fix it quickly and say so. This policy applies to everyone we cover — including people who have been charged with or accused of a crime.
How We Handle Corrections
- Corrections fix a factual error. We update the article and add a dated note at the foot of the piece describing what changed.
- Clarifications resolve wording that, while not strictly inaccurate, could mislead.
- Updates add material developments — a charge dropped, a conviction overturned, an arrest made — to a previously published story.
Right of Reply
Any individual or organization named in our reporting — including the accused or their counsel — may submit a response to our characterization of events. We will consider publishing a fair, on-point reply, or incorporating it into the article.
Removal & Legal Requests
If you believe an article contains a material factual error, is defamatory, or raises a legitimate privacy or legal concern, write to corrections@crimedocket.com with the specifics. We evaluate every removal and legal request in good faith and act promptly where a claim is substantiated. Reporting that a person was charged is updated to reflect any later acquittal, dismissal, or exoneration.
